Stupid Simple SEO Course Review: How to Make Google Happy

I promised myself that I would not purchase another course this year, but, I broke that promise. If you are considering purchasing an affordable and simple SEO course, read my review of Stupid Simple SEO course to decide if it is right for you.

If you found this article on Google, you have proof that Stupid Simple SEO course really works. [UPDATE: By using the strategies in this course, this article ranked on page one within a week]

I loathe paid ads. Sure, ads serve a marketing purpose, but when businesses rely 100% on paid ads to drive traffic, I cringe. Building a profitable online brand means building a solid foundation. Building a solid foundation equates to developing a marketing mix that combines a few synergistic strategies. One of those marketing strategies should ALWAYS include SEO (search engine optimization).

When I consult with new entrepreneurs who are starting their first online business, I find that there is a common thread between each of them. They are all confused by SEO. No surprise. Even seasoned online business owners are intimidated by SEO and many have no idea how to make Google happy.

Even though I have owned a few online businesses over the past ten years and am hyper focused on ranking on page one of search engines, there is always something new to learn. As I navigated through the instructional videos in Mike Pearson’s Stupid Simple SEO Course, I took several pages of notes and created a list of SEO To Do’s for both my blog and ecommerce store.

SEO To Do List

I am thrilled that my content ranks on page one of Google for several keywords, but let’s be completely honest.

If your website is not ranking in position one of Google, you aren't ranking high enough.Click To Tweet

SEO Gold You Can Expect to Learn

If you are brand new to SEO (search engine optimization) and have no idea where to start, you will love this course. Although this course is designed for bloggers and addresses blog SEO, it is a great starting point for ecommerce owners, freelancers, and anyone else who relies on a website to drive business.

My list of To Do’s above is for both my blog and ecommerce store. This course enlightened me to necessary changes I need to make on both sites if I want to grow my organic traffic.

Basic SEO: The 5 Pillars

If you don’t know what the 5 pillars are, you will soon. Stupid Simple SEO walks you through the fundamentals of SEO and teaches you the steps you need to build a strong foundation. How long does it take to rank? How important is site speed? Is my site mobile friendly? All of these questions are answered in easy to understand language. No tech talk.

Search Intent, User Satisfaction, Epic Content

The course teaches actionable ways to determine what your ideal audience is searching for and what they expect to find. The lesson goes a step further to show you how to keep traffic on your site for longer, which Google loves.

Creating “epic” content is critical for ranking on Google and other search engines. Stupid Simple SEO breaks down what it means to create “epic” content and how to make it work for you.

Site Structure and Design

Balancing a clean, “pretty” site or online store and building a website that Google will favor can be challenging. The Stupid Simple SEO Course tackles that challenge and provides actionable methods for achieving the perfect Google/User balance.

From creating an optimal homepage that effectively distributes the “link juice” to evaluating pop ups, ads, and opt-ins, the course takes you through every step to create a website experience that is valued by both Google and your audience.

Keyword Research

The course starts with an in depth explanation of keywords, what they are, how they work, and why they are important. The video instruction walks you through how to research your competitors and ONLY target keywords that make sense and will rank for you.

I have been doing professional keyword research for clients for several years and I picked up a few very valuable tips that were brand new to me. After going through the Keyword Research module in the course, you will know more about keyword research than your competitors.

Creating and Optimizing Content

Whether you have a bunch of content that needs to be optimized for search or you are creating new content from scratch, the course outlines the exact steps to take. Researching content ideas, using appropriate keywords, and setting up on page SEO are topics that are covered in depth.

Stupid Simple SEO reduces these complex topics to simple, actionable steps that anyone can complete.

Whether your blog is part of your ecommerce store, an affiliate website, or a personal blog, the course teaches how to write specific content, like Review and Best Product posts that will rank with Google when executed properly.

Link Building

If you aren’t actively and intentionally building backlinks to your website, you are missing out on a huge opportunity. Backlinking is Google’s #1 ranking signal. That’s a huge deal.

Simple Stupid SEO dedicates FOUR entire modules to explaining backlinks, receiving backlinks, swiping a few of your competitor’s backlinks and building ongoing backlink relationships.
